Behold the 3G iPhone

The iPhone craze is sweeping the nation. Everywhere I go, someone has their iPhone out checking e-mail, chatting with friends, and even trading stocks. The iPhone has become a part of everyday life and it appears that the world’s favorite is about to get even better. Yahoo Tech reports that the 3G iPhone is about to make its debut.

The new 3G is scheduled to be released in 2008, though no official date has been given. Likely new features will include GPS, additional memory, and Bluetooth capability. Yahoo even hints at video conferencing, AT&T’s Video Share service, and “mobile TV,” which I know I would enjoy.

As far as what it would look like, Yahoo explains it would resemble a “candy-bar style handset and large touchscreen, with the brushed-metal back panel possibly going glossy this time out.” Pricing will range between $399 and $499 depending on the size of the memory, but that’s not yet set in stone.

Yahoo and other places I’ve seen have speculated that the phone will be unveiled during the second week of June, meaning you won’t have to wait much longer. It might make for an excellent 2008 Christmas present.
