Full Tilt Online Poker Series IX is Here

It’s hard to believe that we’re already up to the ninth Full Tilt Online Poker Series. The eight previous FTOPS events all lead up to Wednesday, which will mark the first event of FTOPS IX. They have been extremely popular among the online poker room’s patrons and the entire poker world. Soon, Full Tilt Poker will become the Mecca of online poker. That’s not even an exaggeration. Full Tilt, which accepts players from the United States and is 100% Mac compatible, will welcome the best online poker pros on the planet, each dueling it out with one another for their share of the $15 million in guaranteed prize money that’s on the line starting Wednesday. The ninth FTOPS wraps up on Sunday, August 17th.

There are 25 events that compose FTOPS IX. They include some of the largest buy-in tournaments that you’ll find anywhere online. For example, take the $2,500+$120 buy-in Two Day event. It sports a $2 million guaranteed prize pool and runs over the course of two days, as the name implies. Here are the details of this highly-talked about tournament, taken from Full Tilt Poker’s website:
•    A $2,500 + $120 buy-in
•    Two days of play, with the first day ending at the conclusion of level 17 or when the field is whittled down to the final two tables, whichever comes first. Day two will start the next day at 14:00 ET.
•    A 30-minute blind structure with 5,000 chips to start – 250 times the initial big blind
•    A guaranteed prize pool of at least $2 million

Wednesday’s tournament kicks the FTOPS off with a bang. Hosted by Full Tilt Poker pro Allen Cunningham, the $216 buy-in $1 million guaranteed tournament will be among the largest in FTOPS IX in terms of the size of the field. A $1,060 buy-in $1.5 million guaranteed event hosted by Eli Elezra is a six-max tournament, which means fast-paced action with large sums of money up for grabs. Another six-max tournament has a buy-in of $322 and is hosted by Peter “Nordberg” Feldman. That tournament sports a $1 million prize pool.

Of course, the Main Event is really what the FTOPS is all about. In FTOPS IX, the Main Event is a $535 buy-in $2.5 million guaranteed affair. It starts on Sunday, August 17th at 6:00pm ET.
