At MacPoker.net, we’re all about giving back to the community. After all, you can’t have a successful website without a loyal legion of fans returning every day to see what you have to offer. We started creating the idea for MacPoker.net by noticing that there was a giant void in websites that offered information for poker enthusiasts looking to fire up the virtual felts on their Macs. After all, with this segment of the market growing leaps and bounds, we wanted all of the information we could possibly get our hands on. We asked several online poker players we knew to provide us with some of their behaviors and preferences. In the process, we ran a $250 freeroll, which paid out free money to the top three finishers.
There were 12 competitors total, each of the people we asked for input when launching MacPoker.net. When the smoke cleared on this rewarding tournament, here’s how they stood:
1. orucker
2. Czar_of_FT
3. DntCaItACmBk
4. yardle
5. jtsync47
6. splashpoker
7. Thematador2139
8. Krone2727
9. Binsky
10. Dazbog
11. HiFi01
12. PrinceAkeem
The top three walked away with $125, $75, and $50, respectively, in this freeroll, which unfolded on Full Tilt Poker. If you’ve never played on the site, I’m not sure what you’re waiting for. Full Tilt offers a downloadable version of its software for Mac poker players. This means that you can take advantage of every feature available to your foes playing on their Windows machines. PokerStars also offers a fully-downloadable version of its online poker room. Sites such as Absolute Poker and PokerRoom offer web-based versions that use Java or Flash to display the action. Although features are sometimes lacking in these mediums, these sites do provide you with a way to play on your Mac.
Full Tilt Poker offers three marquee tournaments every Sunday that I would be amiss if I didn’t tell you about. The big one every weekend is the $750K Guaranteed, which offers up a first place prize that frequently tops $130,000. It’s a $216 buy-in tournament with plenty of satellites available. It’s the second largest weekly online poker tournament.
The Full Tilt Sunday Brawl is a popular destination for any online poker player because it kicks off around the same time as the $750K Guaranteed. It’s also a $256 buy-in tournament, where $200 goes to the prize pool, $40 becomes a bounty on your head, and $16 is pocketed by Full Tilt as part of its rake. This unique bounty tournament officially has a $250K guarantee, but the actual prize pool frequently balloons much higher.
Finally, the Sunday Mulligan is your opportunity for more poker action if you bust from the $750K Guarantee. The $216 buy-in tournament has a $150K guarantee attached to it. Last week’s winner won just less than $50,000.
