PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker consistently provide the highest stakes tournaments every week for online poker players. If a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool or $100,000 guaranteed prize pool isn’t large enough for you, be sure to check out the major tournaments on Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. If you’re in the U.S., these two sites will gladly accept you. If you’re a Mac user, both sites offer fully-downloadable Mac clients, meaning you can take advantage of every one of the bells and whistles that Windows users have access to. It’s just another way that PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker have established themselves as the top two online poker sites on the Net today.
The second largest weekly tournament held online is the Full Tilt Poker $750K Guaranteed. With that kind of cash up for grabs every Sunday, it’s no wonder the tournament attracts the very best online pros along with the Average Joe trying to strike it rich online. This past weekend, there were 3,566 entrants in the $750K Guaranteed. Each paid $216 or won a satellite to enter (there are plenty of satellites available if shoveling out $216 is out of the question for you). In the end, phatchoy888 emerged victorious, taking home a first place payday of $132,788. GBecks was the runner up, earning $80,250 for his troubles. Rounding out the talented final table were Roekiks, Doc Sands, TheMasterJ33, adamoos, Bashful101, herdgolf86, and vandAAgnog. The top 552 spots paid out and the top three finishers earned over $50,000. It’s all in a night’s work on Full Tilt Poker.
The Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl is a weekly $256 buy-in tournament. Why $256, you ask? Of your buy-in, $200 goes to the prize pool, $40 is placed on your head as a bounty, and $16 goes to the house. This tournament is immensely popular because the bounty prize pool can quickly add up. Successful players can often knock out enough people to garner a healthy payday regardless of whether they finish in the top ten. Tincup35 was the winner this weekend, earning $61,146. Hesperides finished second, cashing for $38,678. The top 162 spots paid out and the top four cashed for over $20,000.
My favorite tournament every week isn’t held on Full Tilt Poker, but rather can be found on PokerStars. The Sunday Million offers up a one million dollar prize pool every seven days. This is regularly the richest tournament offered anywhere and, because of that, attracts the largest fields. Take this past weekend, when despite the World Series of Poker going on, 6,521 people flocked to PokerStars to play. Aptly named GoMukYaSelf finished first, winning $162,112. Coming in second was supadphat, who took home a $110,205 consolation prize. The top 1,017 spots paid out. The top four finishers took home at least $50,000.
Make sure to take advantage of these high-stakes tournaments every week by logging onto Full Tilt Poker or PokerStars on your Mac and taking advantage of the full downloads offered. Your wallet will thank you later.
