Overview

Titan Poker is an up and coming online poker room that should be on your radar. Home to a $250K Guaranteed tournament every single weekend as well as the European Championship of Online Poker, Titan Poker is quickly rising to become one of the major players in the online poker world. Thousands of players visit Titan Poker everyday, many taking advantage of the 50% first time deposit bonus up to $200. New players on the site can even play in special weekly Beginners Freerolls, which dole out $200 per day and give away some of the hottest electronic items you can think of. It’s all part of the way Titan Poker is attracting players from around the world.

Section 1: How to Play on Your Mac

Unfortunately, unlike Full Tilt Poker or PokerStars, Titan Poker has not yet released a downloadable version of its software. Moreover, there is also not yet a Flash or Java-based web client like the ones you’ll find on Absolute Poker, Pacific Poker, PokerRoom, Sun Poker, and Party Poker. If you’re itching to play Titan Poker on your Mac, you’ll need to use a program like Parallels or Boot Camp that allow you to run Windows-based programs (like Titan Poker) right on your machine.

When you visit Titan Poker’s website, you’ll be prompted to download the software automatically. If you’re in the U.S., the download will not work, as Titan Poker does not accept U.S. customers (you’ll get an error at the end of your download). If you’re outside of the United States, set up an account and hit the tables. At the time of writing, there were over 8,000 people playing on 1,300 tables who are waiting for you. So what are you waiting for? Download Titan Poker and start playing online poker.

Section 2: Playing on Titan Poker

Titan Poker’s lobby is structured a little bit differently from other online poker rooms’ so it might take a little bit of getting used to if you regularly play on UltimateBet or PokerStars. The navigation bar is located down the left-hand side of the poker lobby (as opposed to the top). Here, you can view the cash games, sit and go tournaments, scheduled tournaments, and play money tables available. Click on the plus sign (+) to expand your selection and the minus sign (-) to contract it. Omaha, Texas Hold’em, and Stud tables are available. I really like that Titan Poker identifies its “Beginners” tables clearly, making the process of finding a low stakes table easy for a first time user. If you click on any table, you’ll be able to see the names of the players currently seated as well as those who are on the wait list. You can sort the cash game lobby by average pot size, the number of players per flop, and hands per hour. If you’re like me, you’ll go after the tables with the most number of hands each hour (I’m an action junkie). Here’s a screen shot of the main lobby:

Titan Poker’s tables are very similar in look to the ones on PokerRoom. You’re represented by a computer-generated person sitting at the table. Will you get to be the man in the Hawaiian shirt or the player dressed like James Bond? Unlike tables on Full Tilt Poker or Bodog, the actual table view is very clean. If you want to look at hand histories or your own stats, you’ll need to open other windows in order to do so. There’s a four color deck option available as well. Check out a typical Titan Poker table:

If you’re a serious poker player, you know the importance of being able to multi-table. After all, the more tables you can play, the bigger your edge will be. I’ve seen someone 20 table before and, needless to say, it’s a lot to keep track of (to this day, I still don’t understand how it’s possible). You can tile up to 16 tables on Titan Poker using the mini table option. Just click on the mini table button located in the top middle of your table to switch to mini view. Here’s a look at what your screen will resemble:

In addition, Titan Poker has a buddy list option that is similar to UltimateBuddy on UltimateBet. You can very quickly locate fish, friends, and family by adding them to your buddy list. I often will spot the weak players at my table, add them to my buddy list, and then locate them when I sign on next time in order to keep playing with them.

Section 3: Depositing on Titan Poker

I don’t think I’ve seen an online poker room that has as many payment options available as Titan Poker. Remember to see which options are available in your jurisdiction before you deposit. Here’s a list of options for depositing on Titan Poker: NETeller, Moneybookers, ClickandBuy, INSTADEBIT, Click2Pay, PaySafeCard, Ukash, Bank Transfer, iDEAL, Przelewy24, POLI, EcoCard, WebMoney, myCitadel, UseMyBank, and Entropay. Credit cards accepted for depositing include Visa, MasterCard, Switch, and Solo.

If you have any problems along the way, e-mail deposits@titanpoker.com or call +1(888) 201-5684 from Canada, 0-800-066-4320 from the United Kingdom, and +632-756-7927 from anywhere else in the world. Once you’re logged into the software, a live help option is available if you’re not a fan of using the phone. Titan Poker has won several customer service awards, so your experience should be a good one.

Section 4: Titan Poker Promotions

Titan Poker caters to a wide variety of online poker players and its promotional offerings include a mix of high stakes guaranteed tournaments as well as an array of promotions that are aimed at the first time player.

Guaranteed Tournaments

The largest guaranteed tournament offered on Titan Poker, the $250K Guaranteed is played every Sunday. The buy-in is a healthy $215. It regularly attracts the top players on Titan Poker as well as around the world and is the talk of the town in the online poker world on Monday morning. This tournament is larger than the Sunday major tournaments offered on several other online poker rooms, so make it a point to enter and win your share of $250K.

If you’d rather play in a rebuy tournament, enter the $100K Guaranteed $55 buy-in tournament with rebuys and add-ons that is played every Friday. The potential for an enormous prize pool (over $100,000) is certainly well within reach. Rebuy tournaments require a slightly different strategy than freezeouts like the $250K Guarantee, so make sure to practice first.

Finally, if you’re looking for a warm-up to the $250K Guarantee on Sunday, play in the $50K Guarantee on Saturday. It’s a $109 buy-in tournament that will get your blood pumping and your pulse racing. Plus, it’s an excellent way to practice for the $250K Guarantee the next day.

European Championship of Online Poker

The first ECOOP was held in December, 2007 and ever since then the tournament series has attracted more and more people. Similar to PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker, Bodog’s Poker Open, and the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, the ECOOP boasts a set of tournaments that will test your skills in no limit hold’em, pot limit Omaha, and limit hold’em. Recent ECOOP tournaments have even featured freerolls as events. The winner of each tournament takes home a bundle of cash, a gold bracelet, and etches their name among poker’s elite. Visit Titan Poker for information on when you can catch the next ECOOP.

Progressive Jackpot Sit and Go Tournaments

A great way to hone your sit and go tournament skills is to play in Titan Poker’s jackpot sit and gos. Win six consecutive six-man Fort Knox sit and gos and take home $50,000. Win six consecutive Rio sit and gos and take home $25,000. Win five consecutive Maui sit and gos and take home $15,000. These jackpots increase every week until someone takes home the cash. It’s a unique opportunity to improve your sit and go play and potentially win some big money at the same time.
